Trang was born and grew up in Vietnam until he was 29 years old. In 1982, he moved to the Bay Area and worked for semiconductor companies as a circuit design engineer. He retired in 2016. The retirement gave Trang a chance to concentrate on his favorite hobby: painting. He started reading painting books, learning strokes from his favorite artists, and finally placing his brush in paint. He experimented with different mediums such as oil, pastel, and gouache before settling into watercolor. He is a Fremont Art Association member.
Trang loves the beauty of the nature, the countryside, and the wild place. He wants to express his feelings about them in his paintings. His subjects include landscape, flowers, and still life.
