My work deals with the connection between nature and nostalgia. Using paint and found papers, my practice involves repetitious layering paint and shreds of paper meticulously though allowing for spontaneity. The inhabitants of my paintings are inspired by my present environment; however, they are simultaneously imbued with the past through incorporation of old family photographs, letters, and other found materials. I am interested in how their original meaning is changed by the context of the new canvas.
I am a multimedia artist based out of Northern California. I am a graduated from Beit Berel College, School of Art in Israel with a degree in Art Education and major in art print. My practice revolves around interweaving paint and found materials like wood, old photographs, and other ephemera. I currently teach art classes for both adults and children out of my Sunnyvale studio. I have shown my work in San Jose, Palo Alto, Santa Cruz, and other bay area galleries and art fairs.
