FROM ROLLING STONE MAGAZINE:
"At first glance, the viewer sees shameless color, complex texture, and spontaneity. The creativity is raw and it’s uncooked, perhaps rough. However, a closer examination reveals an unexpected elegance along with an ambiguity, that is carefully inserted through out the work."

UP NEXT: TOBIAS TOVERA // POP UP SHOW AND TECHNIQUE DEMONSTRATION

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 19th • 6 - 8 pm

TobiasToveraStudioShoot2017.jpg

Using salt, mineral, water, ice and fire, Tobias Tovera explores alchemical processes in the pursuit of discovering a zone of possibility and immediacy through ritual.

Inspired by entropic systems and primordial life, the new collection of paintings was conceived to evoke the senses and connect with nature in an unexpected way.

Enjoy an evening of contemporary art installation and painting. New work by Tobias Tovera will be on view, in addition to a live performance accompanied with music by Jesse Stern Music on the Epiphone Guitar.

"In my artwork I am interested in discovering transmuted spaces, places where energy shifts, changes, or renews itself. Through an exploration of the interstices between opposing elements such as nature and artifice, chaos and order, I wish to explore entropic systems where healing may occur. I want my audience to be confronted by a raw sense of what it means to be alive."
